7. SUPERINTENDENT/PRINCIPAL REPORT

Attached are the dates and tim= es for our Awards Assemblies and Good Behavior Parties for this school year.<= span style=3D'mso-spacerun:yes'> Our 1^st quarter Aw= ards Assembly will be held on Tuesday November 3^rd, with grades = K-4 at 8:15 a.m. and grades 5-8 at 8:45 a.m. The Good Behavior Party for t= he 1^st 9 week grading period will be held on Friday November 6^th at 10:30 a.m.

Red Ribbon Week will begin on Friday Oct. 23<= sup>rd with an assembly “Hand in Hand:= Peace Through Peer Support” for students in grades K-6. All students and staff will w= ear red & white and/or DARE shirts and sign a commitment banner for a peaceful and violence free school year. Monday Oct. 26^th is “I Pledge to Be Drug Free.” Tuesday Oct. 27^th = is “Life is Sweet Drug Free,” and Wednesday Oct. 28^th is “Say Boo to Drugs” (Halloween Room Parties). The theme for Red Ribbon Week= is Show Good Character/Stay Away From Drugs.

Teachers in grades K-4 have their schedules complete and have s= ent them to parents/guardians. On Tuesday Oct. 13^th, junior high parents/guardians may call M= rs. Haley to set up desired meetings, if they have not already been contacted. On our Parent/Teacher Conference dates, available conference times will be ta= ken on a first come first serve basis.&nb= sp;

The event is being sponsored = by Tazewell County Veteran’s Commission, Tazewell County Board, and Tazewell Regional Superintendent.&nbs= p; Students from East Peoria Central, Creve Coeur, and Robein will= be in attendance on the Nov. 9^th date. A similar celebration will be= held in Washington and Morton for their students.

A. Approv= e to employ Christie Vescogni for instruction of a homebound student during the 2009-2010 school year.
